Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Facility Placement Support in Pinellas County and Tampa Bay, Florida

Moving to assisted living, memory care, or a nursing home is one of life's hardest transitions. Whether you're an older adult considering options for yourself or a family facing this difficult decision for someone you love, you deserve honest guidance.

We help you navigate facility selection. We then provide ongoing oversight after the move to ensure dignified, high-quality care.

FAQs

Common Questions About Relocation and Facility Oversight

How is this different from "free" senior placement services?

"Free" agencies take commission-based referral fees from facilities. They're paid by facilities, not you. Our guidance is client-centered, independent, and based on substantial professional experience and expertise in aging. We work directly for you or your family, allowing our recommendations to be guided by quality, fit, and long-term well-being.

How many facilities will you recommend?

Typically 3-5 that match your needs, budget, preferences, and A Silver Lining's working knowledge of the behind the scenes aspects of facility care in Pinellas County and Tampa Bay. We narrow options, not overwhelm you, and explain the pros and cons of all options based on the uniqueness of each client.

Will you tell me which facility to choose?

No. We provide detailed information and expert evaluation. The final decision is always yours. We help you make an informed choice.

How quickly can you help if we're being rushed?

For urgent situations, we can work quickly. We've helped families research and select facilities in 3-5 days when necessary. We can also assist with creating temporary plans during transition discussions so long-term decisions are not rushed. For non-urgent situations, we prefer 2-3 weeks for thorough research.

Do you help with memory care placement?

Yes. We assess dementia severity and know which memory care communities or traditional assisted living facilities in Pinellas County would best serve your loved one based on many factors related to care, support services, and long-term care needs.

Can you help if we live out of state?

Absolutely. Many clients are long-distance families. We serve as your local expert in Florida, touring facilities, evaluating quality, and providing ongoing oversight.

How is ongoing oversight different from visiting myself?

You might not know what red flags indicate neglect or poor care, or what limitations exist in different facility environments. We understand facility operations and can identify systemic issues. We have professional relationships that make advocacy more effective, and we know how to navigate around any barriers to needed care or support.

What if the facility objects to outside oversight?

Good facilities welcome family involvement. If a facility objects to us visiting, that's a red flag. You have the right to have advocates visit your loved one.
